What are the effects of valve cover gasket oil leakage?

1. After the valve gasket leaks oil, the oil will flow down the cylinder head. Due to the high temperature of the engine body during operation, the oil adhering to the surface of the body will slowly evaporate, producing pungent smoke;

2. The air tightness of the engine is affected, and the area of oil leakage will also leak the working air pressure of the engine. The engine has an exhaust gas recirculation valve connected to the throttle valve, and air leakage will affect the stability of the engine operation. The valve chamber, also known as the camshaft chamber or the oil chamber of the cylinder head, has a camshaft cover above the valve chamber, forming an approximately closed cavity together with the cylinder head.

Reasons for valve cover gasket oil leakage:

1. The valve cover gasket is aging, causing poor sealing;

2. The forced ventilation valve of the crankcase is blocked, causing an increase in crankcase pressure, which can be relieved from the valve cover gasket or other weak points.
